Biography
I have been worked professionally in software development for over 20 years. Born and
raised in Boston, I earned a Bachelor's Degree in English from Brandeis
University and now live in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, with my wife, Robin, and
two children, Emma and Dylan.
I work as a Documentation Specialist
for SAS Institute in Cary, North Carolina, where I maintain my
department's internal web site and also
document the programming interfaces to various
graphics components that ship with The SAS System.
In addition to working for SAS, I serves as database manager for the
North Carolina Writers' Network and maintain
web pages for other clients, including the McDonnell Lab at Duke University Medical
Center and Obesity and Quality of Life
Consulting in Durham, North Carolina.
For the past ten years, I have taught business and
technical writing for the North Carolina Writers' Network and for the Duke Short Courses program.
In January 2001, I became director of the Center for Business and
Technical Writing, a program of the North Carolina Writers' Network. In that
capacity, I promote and coordinate writing workshops onsite for North
Carolina businesses.
